After cleaning the PC from that one and reinstalling few applications which were corrupted (like firefox), the Notepad started to act properly!! Incredible, but this is what happened to me.

Is that one pointing to the Maestro base font?įIXED!!! I was experiencing problems in other applications as well, and so I decided to run a full scan of my PC with an anti malware tool from a boot CD (to be sure it was not stopped) and in fact it found one malware, a pretty nasty one. If I go to Select Default Fonts in Notepad, it says: Music: Maestro 24 plain. Version: Macromedia Fontographer 4.1 7/6/99
If I go to the font folder and check my Maestro and Jazz fonts both looks correct, with music symbols in it. But I have Notepad, so I can just reinstall it. I did what it says in the 10th post in the first page.

Have a look at the 10th post on the first page of this thread, which is detailed instructions from the Forum admin on what to do only difference is that the NP install does not give you options to install fonts, you just have to reinstall everything. Whoever copied the fonts from another PC and worked, can you please upload here those fonts so I can try? What should I do? It's possible that everyone have similar problems and there is no official detailed descript ion of the problem and solution? I have notepad, so I cannot copy/paste fonts from a CD. I had a MAESTRO_.TTF of 58,304 bytes and was not working.ĭeleting and reinstalling I got one of 63,696, which is different, but still gives the same visual result. Assuming that font is wrong somehow, I checked his size and compared to the ones I found on the web.
If I delete it then the note changes to a different icon. The only way for me to have it look different is to go in C:\Windows\fonts and delete the file MAESTRO_.TTF I tried all techniques above, including downloading the font packs, installing, unistalling. Basically all notes have instead a bass key symbol. I just downloaded Finale Notepad 2008, installed it and this is how it looks.
